The surprising news

Word came down yesterday that more coal-fired power plants have been shut down in President Trump's first two years in office than in Barack Obama's entire first term. Market forces, renewable energy, and fracking have caused more belching coal plants to shutter under a president who promised to save coal than under the president who promised to end coal.

In fact, coal consumption throughout the entire United States is expected to drop to the lowest level since 1979. This past year alone, coal use dropped 4 percent.

The most surprising part of the story?

It was reported by CNN.

Somebody tell us again why the United States needed to be a part of the Paris Accord.
