LR Catholic 64, FS Southside 59

Little Rock Catholic used the 3-pointer to its advantage in the first half, then turned it up a notch against the Fort Smith Southside defense in the second to take a home victory Friday night in the 6A-Central. Catholic (12-7, 2-3 6A-Central) made 7 of 8 three-pointers in the first half. The first four Catholic field goals came on 3-pointers. The Mavericks (4-13, 0-5) held a 17-16 lead after the first quarter, but the Rockets moved out to a 38-33 advantage at the half thanks to five free throws and three more 3-pointers. Southside trimmed one point off that lead in the third quarter, 55-51, setting the stage for a fourth quarter that saw the Mavericks narrow the Catholic advantage to 61-59 with 1:52 remaining. The Rockets held Southside to 2 of 6 free throws in the second half. Charles Daniel, who made 13 of 18 free throws, had a game-high 24 points to lead the Rockets Taye Gatewood led the Mavericks with 17, while Dalton Thomas had 10.

Lavaca 59, Mountainburg 51

The Golden Arrows claimed a narrow win Friday in 2A-4 Conference action at home. Jordan Fenner scored 13 points to pace Lavaca (16-4, 7-0) and Matt Melton aded 12. Waylon Cluck hit seven 3-pointers and scored 25 points for Mountainburg (8-11, 4-3). Jacob Ortlieb scored 12.

Waldron 70, West Fork 61

Peyton Brown poured in 42 points to lead the Bulldogs to a 3A-1 West win Friday night.

Valley Springs 67, Clinton 60

Isaac Ragland scored 23 points to lead four players in double-figures for the Tigers. Teagan James scored 19, Ethan Flud 12 and Trammell Trell 10 for .Valley Springs (27-2, 8-1).

Beebe 38, Greenwood 21

Caleb Barrentine scored 11 points to lead Beebe (7-10, 2-3) to a 5A-West Conference road win. Jack Gaston scored 15 points for Greenwood (3-14, 0-5).

Charleston 61, Cedarville 56

Brayden Ross and Jacob Green each had 17 points as Charleston held off a second-half comeback by Cedarville and remained unbeaten in 3A-1 West Conference play. Blaine Rowland added 14 for the Tigers (13-4, 9-0), who led 36-25 at halftime before the Pirates trimmed it to 49-43 after three quarters.

Omaha 74, Norfork 45

Omaha used a 24-7 run in the second quarter to pull away from Norfork and claim a 1A-2 Conference win at Omaha.

Dillon Gant had 21 points and Austin Isbell added 19 for the Eagles (12-11, 8-4), who used the outburst to turn a three-point lead into a 36-16 halftime cushion.

Booneville 50, Jessieville 47

The Bearcats jumped to a 26-15 halftime lead, but had to hold on for the 3A-4 Conference win over Jessieville on Friday night.

Blakley Cobb led Booneville (19-1, 8-0) with 14 points and 14 rebounds, while Noah Reyes added 13. Brandon Shifflett led all scorers with 25 for Jessieville.

Deer 68, Kingston 55

Caden Young had 24 points to lead three Deer players in double figures as the Antlers knocked off Kingston in 1A-1 Conference action.

Keegan Middleton added 14 and Johnny Smith 13 for Deer (20-8, 7-1), which led 18-8 after one quarter and 36-20 at halftime. Avery Weaver had 18 to lead Kingston (7-19, 1-6), followed by William Clark with 15 and Gunnar Davis with 10.

Jasper 56, Alpena 47

Jasper outscored Alpena 20-11 in the fourth quarter and claimed its 20th win of the season during 1A-1 Conference action Friday in Jasper. Chance Pruitt scored 9 of his 12 points for the Pirates (20-9, 6-2) and joined two others in double figures. Caleb Carter led Jasper with 17, while Laython Collns added 11. Jonathan Stone had 29 to lead Alpena (14-12, 5-4), while Corey Holstead chipped in 12. Jasper played the game without coach Steve Lynch, who had to miss the game because of an illness.

Huntsville 65, Gravette 61 (2OT)

League-leading Huntsville needed two overtime periods to hold off Gravette in 4A-1 Conference action Friday night.

Beau Welchel scored 23 points for Huntsville (14-6, 6-0) and Sean McCone added 16.

Eureka Springs 47, Decatur 26

The Highlanders powered to a 21-point win Friday night behind Garrett Cross, who scored a game-high 26 points.

Carter Drennon added 10 points for Eureka Springs (23-5). Ryan Ross led the Bulldogs (2-14) with 15 points.

Bergman 63, Rose Bud 43

A 16-4 second-quarter run allowed Bergman to pull away from Rose Bud during 3A-1 East Conference action Friday in Rose Bud. The outburst allowed the Panthers (24-4, 7-2) to turn a five-point lead into a 33-16 halftime cushion. Elijah Royce had 22 points and 14 rebounds to lead Bergman.

GIRLS

Pottsville 52, Clarksville 48 (OT)

Clarksville forced overtime but was outscored 8-4 over the extra 4 minutes as the Lady Panthers suffered their first A-4 Conference defeat Friday in Pottsville. Clarksville (16-5, 6-1) trailed 22-19 at halftime and 35-32 after three quarters, but came back and tied the game at 44 at the end of regulation. Kyerra Cowell had 16 points and was the only Lady Panther in double figures.

Charleston 51, Cedarville 40

Charleston used a 19-8 run in the second quarter to get ahead of Cedarville and remain undefeated in 3A-1 West Conference play. The Lady Tigers (18-1, 9-0) used that run to turn a 9-8 deficit into a 27-17 halftime lead. Charleston then expanded its lead to 42-25 after three quarters. Allie Green had 20 points to lead a trio of Lady Tigers in double figures, followed by Alexis Grandison with 15 and Baylee King with 11.

Lamar 49, Perryville 41

Junior guard Lakyn Sanders scored 21 points, handed out 7 assists and made 5 rebounds as the visiting Lady Warriors (16-3, 8-1) defeated the Lady Mustangs (10-10, 3-6) in a 3A-4 game. Lamar took control of the game by outscoring Perryville 16-2 in the second quarter to take a 27-14 lead at the half.

Two Rivers 50, Paris 22

The Lady Gators (16-6, 8-1) held on to first place in the 3A-4 Conference as Kaitlin Hunnicutt scored a game-high 21 points.

Greenwood 55, Beebe 27

The Lady Bulldogs got balanced scoring to claim a 5A-West Conference home win Friday. Kinley Fisher led the way for Greenwood (11-6, 3-2) with 14 points. Madelyn Atkins paced Bebe (6-12, 0-5) with 11.

LR Central 65, Conway 54

A wire-to-wire effort allowed Little Rock Central to hand No. 1 Conway its first loss in 6A-Central Conference play this season behind 20 points from senior guard A.J. Williams. The Tigers shot 50 percent (18 of 36) from the floor while holding the Wampus Cats to 37.5 percent shooting (15 of 40). Central (12-5, 2-3) has won two consecutive 6A-Central games after an 0-3 start. The Tigers won 48-43 at Cabot on Tuesday, then never trailed in Friday’s victory against Conway (13-4, 4-1). Senior forward Rajhon McIntosh was the Tigers’ other scorer with at least 10 points, finishing with 15. The Tigers were 26 of 32 from the free-throw line. Junior guard Caleb London led the Wampus Cats with nine points.

Maumelle 65, LR Parkview 61

Maumelle fell behind 10-0 to start Friday’s 5A-Central Conference game and allowed Little Rock Parkview to score the first nine points of the third quarter. The Hornets, however, had a much better finish.

Sophomore Josh Denton came off the bench, hit five 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 19 points in leading Maumelle to an upset of the No. 7 Patriots. Junior Tre Flowers added 12 points and came up with 5 steals for Maumelle while Brahm Harris scored 10 points.

Maumelle (10-7, 3-1) scored 8 of the final 9 points of the third quarter for a 47-44 advantage. The Hornets never relinquished the lead in the fourth quarter.

Parkview (11-5, 3-1) hit its first four shots from four different players to take a 10-0 lead 82 seconds into the contest, but Maumelle closed the gap to 16-15 before Patriots senior Allen Flanigan drilled a 3-pointer at the first-quarter horn.

Allen Flanigan led Parkview with 17 points while Simmons scored 16 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and blocked 4 shots. Ryan Gordon added 15 points.

Baptist Prep 63, Episcopal Collegiate 37

Baptist Prep followed Issac McBride to a victory over Episcopal Collegiate at Wildcat Arena in Little Rock on Friday night.

McBride, a 6-1 senior guard and University of Kansas signee, scored 21 points and sparked runs that turned into a Baptist Prep (18-3, 8-0 3A-5) blowout.

Bryant 65, Cabot 55

Treylon Payne scored 18 of his game-high 23 points in the first half as Bryant took down the Panthers.

Junior guard Khalen Robinson had 17 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds, and senior guard Rodney Lambert closed with 12 points and 5 rebounds for Bryant (13-4, 4-1), which pulled into a tie for first place in the 6A-Central Conference with North Little Rock and Conway. The victory was the 11th in the past 12 games for the Hornets.

Junior guard Jackson Muse scored 14 points, and junior forward Jacob Hudson ended with 13 points and 11 rebounds for Cabot (14-4, 2-3), which has dropped three league games in a row.

England 70, Poyen 38

Warren Green and Tyler Green each scored 16 points for the Lions (17-4, 10-0) in their victory over the Indians (7-11, 2-7). Kevante Davis added 14 points for England. The Lions led 16-6 at the end of the first quarter, 32-11 at halftime and 47-27 after three quarters.

Izard County 63, St. Joe 28

Izard County outscored host St. Joe 32-5 in the first quarter of a 1A-2 game and cruised to a victory that clinched a spot in the regional tournament. Noah Everett led the Cougars with 17 points.

Jacksonville 67, Sylvan Hills 56

Devonte Davis scored 22 points to lead the Titans (9-6, 2-2 5A-Central) past the Bears (10-6, 0-4). Michael Moore had 15 points and Cody Roland added 10 for Jacksonville. Nick Smith led Sylvan Hills with 20 points.

Mills 69, Wynne 30

Mills held Wynne (3-16, 0-9) to single-digit scoring in three quarters of a 4A-5 game. Orion Virden led the visiting Comets (15-4, 8-0) with 14 points, while Bran-ton McCrary had 12 and Kevin Cross chipped in with 10.

West Memphis 53, Paragould 31

Host West Memphis scored the final 13 points of the third quarter to provide the knockout blow in a victory over Paragould. The Blue Devils (15-5, 3-3 5A-East) built a 26-14 lead over the Rams (6-10, 0-5), then went on a 13-0 run in the fianl 4:34 of the third quarter for a 43-19 edge.

GIRLS

Bryant 53, Cabot 48

Senior guard Kalia Walker turned in a game-high 17 points as Bryant held off a final charge to pick up a key 6A-Central Conference victory over Cabot. Junior guard Tierra Trotter added 11 points for the Lady Hornets, who led 44-34 early in the fourth quarter before the Lady Panthers got within three over the final two minutes. Junior guard India Atkins had 9 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals for Bryant (13-4, 3-2). Senior guard Anna Wilson scored 16 points for Cabot (12-4, 3-2), which had won 5 of its past 6 games. Senior forward Brooklyn Stracener finished with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 steals, while junior guard Izzy Arnold ended with 10 points and 4 assists for Cabot. The Lady Panthers shot 18 of 48 from the field and held a 33-32 rebounding edge but were hampered by 23 turnovers. Bryant was 16-of-46 shooting for the game.

Camden Fairview 37, Star City 34

After trailing 17-14 at halftime, Camden Fairview (16-3, 5-0) outscored visiting Star City (16-4, 3-2) 23-16 in the second half to remain undefeated in 4A-8 play.

TaiSheka Porchia led Camden Fairview with 19 points.

Central Arkansas Christian 77, Mayflower 31

Hannah-claire haughaboo connected on six three-pointers and finished with 20 points as the lady mustangs (13-7, 8-0 3a-5) Downed the host lady eagles (9-11, 5-3).

Freshman ava knoedl added 17 for cac. Karley brown led mayflower with 10 points.

Conway 68, LR Central 29

The Lady Wampus Cats (17-3, 4-1 6A-Central) used a 29-0 run in the third quarter to pull away from the Lady Tigers (6-10, 1-4) in Little Rock.

It was 22-22 at halftime, but Conway outscored Central 46-7 in the second half. Conway led 53-25 entering the fourth quarter after a 31-3 third quarter.

Asiyha Smith led Conway with 15 points and Kyja Chatman added 10 points. Central was led by Ariyanna Hall’s nine points.

England 53, Poyen 46

Tatayana Pennister scored a game-high 31 points as host England earned a 2A-5 South victory over Poyen.

Tybriana Durham added 10 points for England (18-5, 8-2), which led 29-22 at halftime. Madyson Edwards led Poyen with 11 points, and Bree McDermott had 10.

eSstem 71, Forrest City 33

The Lady Mets (15-7, 8-1) outscored the Lady Mustangs 41-12 in the first quarter and never looked back.

Haley Franklin led eStem with 17 points. Alexander Johnson and Makeyla Miller had 16 each and Jaylen Mallard scored 13. The Lady Mets led 58-19 at halftime over Forrest City (6-11, 4-5).

LR Parkview 55, Maumelle 46

Junior guard Jordyn Williams hit three 3-pointers and was 6 of 7 from the free-throw line on her way to a 20-point performance as the Lady Patriots (2-10, 1-3) defeated the Lady Hornets (5-11, 2-2) in a 5A-Central Conference game at Parkview.

Senior Kaylan Larry added 15 points and had three steals for Parkview, which snapped a four-game losing streak. Kila Allen led Maumelle with 12 points.

West Memphis 38, Paragould 35

Aryah Hazley scored two of her game-high 21 poins from the free-throw line with 5.7 seconds left to play. Paragould’s Taylor Beasley’s 3-pointer rattled out at the buzzer.
