EDITORIAL: Finally settling DACA

Word has come down that the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed to take up the case of whether President Donald Trump can end DACA. Finally.

It doesn't seem like Congress is going to settle our broken immigration issues anytime soon, so the Supreme Court might as well settle one portion of it once and for all.

Here's more from Fox News: "The justices announced Friday they will hear oral arguments on the appeal in its next term, which begins in October. A ruling is expected in the presidential election year, putting the high court at the center of one of the most politically charged issues."

These Dreamers haven't done anything wrong and were brought to this country as babies and children without knowing from illegal immigration. Most of them only know the United States as their home. And sending them back to a country they know nothing about would be cruel.

May the justices decide this once and for all.

Our considered editorial opinion? Suffer the children--don't make them suffer. Give them a path to citizenship so they can stop fearing for their lives and finally leave limbo. They don't deserve to remain as political chips between two parties that are more interested in fighting each other than solving problems for the least among us.
