1 MARTIAL ARTS

ATA Martial Arts estimates 20,000 people from most of the United States as well as South America, Africa, Australia, Europe and South Korea have been pouring into Little Rock this week, marking the 50th anniversary of the Taekwondo Association during its annual World Expo through Sunday. The culmination of the week's activities is the Tournament of Champions, continuing through Friday at the Statehouse Convention Center, Markham and Main streets. 2 MARY POPPINS

A practically perfect nanny helps a British family in Mary Poppins, the stage musical version of the classic Disney film, through Aug. 24 at Murry's Dinner Playhouse, 6323 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock. Everything will be totally '80s, including music, arcade games, a lip-sync contest and appearances by Marty McFly and the time-traveling DeLorean from the movie Back to the Future. 9 MOUNTING MEMORIES

"Stitched Together: A Treasury of Arkansas Quilts," covering the history of quilting in Arkansas through a selection of bed toppers made before 1900, many of them prior to the Civil War, goes on display with a 2nd Friday Art Night reception, 5-8 p.m. Friday at Historic Arkansas Museum, 200 E. Third St., Little Rock. Ten Penny Gypsy will perform. The exhibit remains up in the museum's Cabe Gallery through Oct. 31. Also opening Friday: "The Arkansas Territory Collection — Commemorating 200 Years," up through Sept. 8, and "Glint and Glimmer: Recent Acquisitions That Shimmer and Shine," up through Oct. 1. A young woman's search for the identity of her birth father on the eve of her wedding brings three men from her mother's past back to the Greek island they last visited 20 years ago in Mamma Mia!
