SPRINGDALE -- Police arrested Billson Andrike in connection with fleeing after he said in court he was involved in an incident where shots were fired from a car during a chase.

Andrike, 21, of 8448 Via Silva was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of flight from an officer after the vehicle he was in crashed after a police pursuit, according to a police report.

According to police, a man called 911 about 1:30 a.m July 8 to report several juveniles breaking into his girlfriend's car near 4527 CB Place. The group got into a blue Ford Explorer and headed west on Wagon Wheel Road. The caller said a passenger in the Explorer fired two shots at him.

An officer tried to stop the Explorer about 20 minutes later, and the driver fled south on 48th Street and crashed at the intersection of Celeste Drive. The vehicle hit a concrete ditch in Johnson.

The occupants of the Explorer fled on foot, but police said Andrike was caught and arrested.

Andrike said during an arraignment on the misdemeanor charge in Springdale District Court he was driving the vehicle, according to the police report.

He was arrested in connection with fleeing, a felony, and booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Monday. He was being held in the detention center Tuesday with no bond set.
