Gangsters and Gals Roaring 20s Benefit

RUSSELLVILLE — CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of the 5th Judicial District will present the first Gangsters and Gals Roaring 20s Benefit at 6 p.m. at The Old Bank Sports Bar and Grill, 218 W. Main St. The fundraiser, which will include live music, dancing and food, will benefit CASA of the 5th, a nonprofit whose volunteers advocate for abused and neglected children in foster care. Birdhouses and Baffles Workshop

CONWAY — Birdhouses and Baffles: Learning to Grow With the Master Gardeners will be presented from 6-7 p.m. at the Faulkner County Extension Office, 844 Faulkner St. Led by Faulkner County Master Gardeners James Howard, James Hyatt and Bob Humphreys, this free workshop will cover birdhouse design and construction, the mounting of birdhouses, and how to construct and use a baffle to protect birdhouses from squirrels, snakes and other predators. Maumelle Newcomers Club Coffee

MAUMELLE — The Maumelle Newcomers Club will have its monthly coffee at 10 a.m. at the Maumelle Community Center. The recipient of the Maumelle Newcomers Club Scholarship award will be announced. The club is a social, charitable and educational organization designed to provide a way for women in Maumelle to meet others and gather for various activities of their choice. Children’s Fishing Derby at Pleasant View Park

RUSSELLVILLE — The Russellville Recreation and Parks Department will present the annual Children’s Fishing Derby, for children ages 4 to 12, at 8 a.m. at Pleasant View Park, with the weigh-in at 10 a.m. Prizes will be given in three age divisions for the heaviest catfish and the heaviest stringer of catfish, plus a special prize for the biggest catfish caught during the derby. Small Works on Paper Entries

LITTLE ROCK — The Arkansas Arts Council is accepting entries for the 2020 Small Works on Paper Exhibition, which showcases artwork no larger than 18-by-24-inches created by members of the Arkansas Arts Council’s online gallery, the Arkansas Artists Registry. Membership to the registry is free. The entry deadline is July 26. An out-of-state juror will select up to 40 pieces to tour in the exhibit. Up to $2,000 is available for juror-selected purchase awards, with the award-winning art becoming part of the Small Works on Paper permanent collection. Artists can submit up to three pieces. Downtown Conway Farmers’ and Crafts Market

CONWAY — The Downtown Conway Farmers’ and Crafts Market, 718 Parkway St., is open from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through October, also on Tuesdays and Thursdays, June through September, when products are available. All items sold are grown or created by local vendors, including produce, honey, meats, eggs, jams and jellies, baked goods, handmade crafts and more. Spring Into Art Exhibit

CLINTON — Sponsored by the North Central Arkansas Artist League, Spring Into Art, an exhibit with 50 paintings by 10 area artists, will hang until July 18 at Ozark Health Medical Center on U.S. 65. The public is invited to view the exhibit, both upstairs by the cafeteria and downstairs in the outpatient wing, during regular hospital hours. Painting Class

Lego Robotics Camp

MORRILTON — A Lego Robotics Camp, designed for kids in third through eighth grades who want to learn, build and program EV3 Mindstorm Robots, will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22-25 in the portable buildings on the Sacred Heart School campus. The $65 registration fee includes a camp T-shirt and a daily snack. On July 25, each team will compete in a Tournament of Champions.
