Needlework

Join the Bella Vista Needlework Club from 10 a.m. to noon every Monday at Riordan Hall. Bring your knitting, crocheting, cross-stitch, beading or any project you want to work on while chatting and making new friends. There are refreshments and a time for show and tell.

The July 1 meeting will have a theme of Independence Day -- red, white and blue.

Gardeners

The Benton County Master Gardeners will meet at 6 p.m. July 2 at The Lodge, Bentonville Church of Christ, North Walton Boulevard and Northwest Eighth Street in Bentonville. The speaker will discuss the Healing Gardens. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the month, and guests are welcome.

Benton County Master Gardeners are members of the volunteer staff of the University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service who disseminate horticulture information throughout the county.

Libertarians

The Benton County Libertarians will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. July 2 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1801 S. Dixieland Road in Rogers.

Joey McCutchen will be the featured speaker, conducting training on the Freedom of Information Act and how to make FOIA requests. The public is invited.

Homesteaders

The Bella Vista Homesteaders will meet at 10:30 a.m. July 2 at Concordia of Bella Vista. The program will be about storm shelters.

The Bella Vista Sunrise Rotary Club has a breakfast meeting at 7 a.m. every Wednesday in the Concordia Main Building, 1 Concordia Drive, Bella Vista. Guests are welcome.

Christian Woman

The Bella Vista Christian Women's Connection will meet at 9 a.m. July 9 at the Bella Vista Community Church, 75 Lancashire Blvd. The public is invited.

The featured speaker will be Jerry Varner, travel specialist, who will speak on "Making Memories." The guest speaker is Judy Hall Mefford. Her presentation will be "Finding Your Balance."

The brunch is held the second Tuesday of each month, and an all-American breakfast is served for $10. The program is sponsored by Stonecroft Ministries.

Civil War

The Bella Vista Civil War Roundtable will meet at 7 p.m. July 11 at the Bella Vista Historical Museum.

The guest speaker will be Dale Phillips, who recently retired from National Park Service after 41 years of service. He was posted in New Orleans for many years and has developed a four-part series of talks on New Orleans in the Civil War. This first part will encompass the early Civil War where the Union captured this vital city. Phillips will cover the remaining three parts beginning in 2020.

The roundtable is open to the public and only requires an interest in American Civil War.

Radio

The Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club will meet at 2 p.m. July 13 in the day room at Mercy Hospital, 214 Carter St. in Berryville.

Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club meets the second Saturday of each month, can help participants get licensed, and is available to give technician, general or amateur extra class tests. The testing is at noon on the second Saturday of each month. Participants must have a reservation and a current valid amateur radio license or have an FCC registration. The test fee is $15.

Singles

Solo Fusion is an active 50s-plus singles group in Bella Vista currently looking for new members. There are a variety of activities and events happening every month.

Writers

Village Lake Writers and Poets meets monthly from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month. Meetings are free and open to the public and held at the Artist Retreat Center, 13467 Lookout Drive in Bella Vista. The meetings are held over lunchtime and sometimes include a potluck lunch. At other times, bring a lunch or purchase one from Java Dudes or Old Bella Vista Food Trucks onsite. There are always lively discussions and open readings from members and guests.
