BEAVER LAKE
Walleye are on their spawning move up the lake's tributaries.
Larry Walker at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said walleye are biting up the White and War Eagle river arms. Walleye are also biting in the Holiday Island area of Table Rock Lake. Try trolling Flicker Shads or deep-diving jerk baits. For live bait, fish with a nightcrawler rig or a jig and minnow combination.
Crappie are biting minnows or jigs 10 to 20 feet deep in the White and War Eagle tributaries. Striped bass are scattered lakewide. Use brood minnows or shad.
Good lures for black bass include jerk baits, crawdad-colored crank baits, grubs and Ned rigs.
Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said the crappie are biting. A tournament on March 2 was won with seven crappie that weighed 9.93 pounds. Use minnows or jigs around brush 10 to 20 feet deep. Spider rigs are also good to use.
BEAVER TAILWATER
Natalie Howe at Beaver Dam Store said power generation is creating high-water fishing conditions. Drift fishing from a boat is the best way to catch trout in high water. Try Power Bait in bright colors. Good lures to use include small jigs, small spoons and countdown Rapalas. For fly fishing, use streamers in high water. Go with nymphs or midges in low water.
LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
David Powell at the lake office reports little fishing activity. Try minnows or small jigs for crappie.
LAKE SEQUOYAH
Mike Carver at the lake office recommends crappie fishing 18 feet deep near the old White River bridge with minnows or jigs. A few walleye have been caught in the White River below the Lake Sequoyah dam.
BELLA VISTA
Charlie Harp at Hook Line and Sinker in Bella Vista recommends fishing for black bass with jerk baits at Loch Lomond and Lake Windsor. Try for trout at Lake Brittany with Power Bait or small spoons.
SWEPCO LAKE
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass fishing is good with any soft plastic lure. Try top-water lures in low light.
SILOAM SPRINGS LAKE
Stroud recommends fishing for crappie with minnows five to 10 feet deep.
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
Stroud recommends fishing for crappie at Lake Eucha with minnows or jigs 12 to 15 feet deep. Try Alabama rigs or jerk baits for black bass.
TABLE ROCK LAKE
Fishing guide Pete Wenners said black bass fishing is good one day, poor the next. Try jerk baits, Alabama rigs, small swim baits and crank baits. Fish bluff ends and cedar trees 20 feet deep or less. Cover lots of water.
