Buckner Baptist Church, 2780 E. Wyman Road in Fayetteville, will celebrate Family & Friends Day at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. Dean Caldwell, evangelist and biblical scholar, will present the message. Special music will be sung by Ozark Revival Quartet.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Fayetteville, 224 N. East Ave., will host "Teaching on Meditation" with Buddhist teacher Anam Thubten, at 7 p.m. April 11.

Thubten will guide participants in developing three aspects of meditation: mindful attention, open awareness and loving kindness. He will also share Buddhist wisdom on working with thoughts and emotions. He is a Tibetan Buddhist teacher and author of several books, including Embracing Each Moment. He has been coming to Arkansas since 1998.

Benton County

All Saints Episcopal Church in Bentonville, 2904 NW Third St., will have a Lenten Soup & Study at 6 p.m. Wednesdays through April 17. The book Walk in Love: Episcopal Beliefs and Practices will be studied. All are welcome. There will also be a guided meditation or contemplative prayer on Thursdays from 6 to 6:30 p.m.

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., hosts Lenten soup suppers and meditations at 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays through April 10 in McKay Hall. Meditations begin at 6:20 p.m. Suggested donation is $3/person or $5/family. Broccoli cheddar soup and taco soup will be served on March 20. Call the church office to sign up.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., hosts a Lenten church service every Wednesday at 6 p.m. There will be a light supper starting at 5:15 p.m. All are welcome.

Bella Vista Lutheran is starting a new one-on-one caring ministry called Confidential Caregiving. This ministry will serve the congregation and the community by caring for those who are experiencing difficulties in their lives.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open every Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. Regular and sugar-free Jell-o is currently needed. Volunteers are also collecting items for an Easter dinner that will be distributed the first two Fridays in April. A container for your donations is in the church narthex.

The Men's Bible study group meets on Mondays at 1 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. Please park in the rear parking lot and enter the lower level.

"Different Strokes for Different Folks" will meet at 2 p.m. March 26 in the church library.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, hosts an Irish sing-along led by church organist Broc Hite at noon Sunday in Becker Hall. All are welcome.

A new grief support group, facilitated by the Rev. Brenda Wideman, meets at 5:30 p.m. every Tuesday until April 30 in the Chapel. All are welcome.

Midweek Manna continues on Wednesdays with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. and classes at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to dinner, even if you are not taking a class. Cost is $5 per person, $3 for children under 10, with a family maximum of $15. There are classes for all ages and interests. Manna will meet every Wednesday except March 20.

The church hosts Lenten worship services at 11:45 a.m. Tuesdays through April 16. A light lunch will follow each week.

At 7 p.m. March 20, a spring equinox drumming circle and meditation will be held. Bring drums, rattles, or other noise makers to celebrate the new season of spring.

Deborah Martin will lead a Bible 101 class at 7 p.m. March 18. This is the second of four classes.

The Oasis Food Pantry will be open from 10 a.m. to noon March 20. This ministry is available to anyone in the area who needs help with groceries. A potluck fellowship dinner will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and the community is always welcome. At 6:30 p.m. there will be singing, devotions and prayer for adults in the Worship Center. A nursery for infants and toddlers is available.
