Police: Little Rock robber punches woman, tries to take car keys

A robber punched a 68-year-old woman and tried taking her keys before running away Tuesday morning in Little Rock, police said.

Authorities said it happened just before 3 a.m. in the 100 block of Legacy Drive. The victim told officers she was getting out of her car when an unknown male attacked her from behind, according to the police report.

After hitting the woman, the robber “become verbally aggressive” and tried to take her car keys, but she held onto them, the report said.

The assailant grabbed the women's lanyard that held ID badges before fleeing, police said. She later found it nearby, the report said.

Officers searched the area but couldn’t find the man, the report said.

The woman declined medical attention.

No arrests had been made at the time of the report, which didn’t include a detailed description of the attacker.
