LITTLE RED RIVER (GREERS FERRY TAILWATER) The Little Red is receiving around 12 hours of generation. Drift fishing is good by staying ahead of the day's generation, and there are short wading opportunities from Winkley Shoal to Libby Shoal. The new water gets to Winkley in about 3½ hours and Libby in 4 to 4½ hours after the release at the dam. Caddis pupas, pheasant tails, San Juan worms and streamers will work for fly-fishing. For Trout Magnet fishing, go with cotton candy and hot pink bodies on silver and chartreuse jighead. Use long leaders and weight for fly fishing and Trout Magnet fishing.

WHITE RIVER Sunny days have made for great trout fishing conditions. Brown trout are biting sculpins and shad. Rainbow trout are biting sunrise and orange PowerBait with shrimp or crawdad tails. Fishing toward the bank reduces moss snagging.
NORFORK TAILWATER The most productive flies have been small midge patterns like ruby, root beer and zebra midges. Black or red with silver wire and silver bead are best. Soft hackles like the green butt are working well, too. Egg patterns also have been productive. Double-fly nymph rigs have been very effective. Try a small Y2K suspended 18 inches below a brightly colored San Juan worm. Best colors are hot fluorescent pink or cerise. The fishing is better in the morning.

SPRING RIVER Trout are biting deep. The use of split shot about a foot above the fly will help to get closer to the bottom of the river. Olive Woolly Buggers are hot with a nymph dropper. Black and orange Trout Magnets are working well for spin fishermen.
