Rick Harrison in Pawn Stars; Reality series returns on History Channel

The popular History Channel series Pawn Stars is back for a new season at 9 p.m. Monday. The show focuses on the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas, where owner Rick Harrison, his son, Corey, and their friend Austin "Chumlee" Russell wheel and deal items ranging from iconic movie props and historical weapons to vehicles.

Monday's episode, "A Game of Pawns" features a limited-edition Game of Thrones item and an Amazonian blow gun. Picker Spencer Victory drops with an ancient Middle Eastern sword and Rick checks out an intriguing collectible from an early 1900s Democratic National Convention.

On June 3's episode, "He Shoots, He Pawns," Kareem Abdul-Jabbar brings some of his most prized personal memorabilia. Then Chumlee checks out a bust of Michaelangelo's La Pieta, which depicts the body of Jesus on the lap of his mother, Mary, after the Crucifixion, and Rick takes a look at correspondence reported to be from Gen. George Custer.

Fans of the show will notice that Richard Benjamin Harrison, Rick's father, who was also known as The Old Man, is no longer on the show. Sadly, he died in June.

Also new this week is the new series The Butcher. It premieres at 9 p.m. Wednesday on the History Channel and is hosted by Coldy Donaldson, a welder and metal fabricator who owned and operated a performance auto restoration business before becoming a runner-up on CBS' Survivor: The Australian Outback. He is the fourth generation of a Texas cattle ranching family with a love of grilling.

On the show, butchers compete in a showdown designed to put their knowledge, strategy and technique to the test.
