Beaver Lake
Black bass are biting a variety of lures.
James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said black bass can be caught by working spinner baits or soft-plastic lures in flooded bushes. Top-water lures may work at dawn and dusk or on cloudy days. Deeper bass can be caught with plastic worms.
Try for crappie 5 to 15 feet deep with jigs or minnows.
Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said catfish are biting well on liver or hot dog chunks soaked in strawberry Kool-Aid.
A spider rig is best for catching crappie. Bait up with minnows and fish 15 feet deep. White bass are biting jigging spoons near Point 12.
Beaver tailwater
Natalie Howe at Beaver Dam Store said trout are biting well on Power Bait, worms or night crawlers.
The best lures are small spoons or small jigs. Try fly fishing for trout with nymphs or midges in low water. Use streamers in high water.
Lake Fayetteville
David Powell at the lake office said crappie are biting minnows or jigs 4 to 6 feet deep. A jig with some yellow in the color pattern is good.
Try fishing for black bass along the dam and other rocky areas with plastic worms rigged wacky style. Use hot dog chunks for catfish.
Lake Sequoyah
Mike Carver at the lake office said crappie fishing is good with Puddle Jumpers or jigs 3 to 5 feet deep. Black bass are biting chartreuse spinner baits. Bluegill are biting worms or small jigs.
Bella Vista
Hook, Line and Sinker in Bella Vista reports good bluegill fishing in shallow water with worms at all Bella Vista lakes. Black bass are spawning. Try creature baits like a jig and pig or plastic lizard.
Swepco Lake
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass fishing is fair with soft plastic lures rigged Carolina style. Square-bill crank baits may also work.
Eastern Oklahoma
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair fishing at Lake Eucha for white bass and crappie with jigs or minnows. Try fishing around brush in coves.
Table Rock Lake
Focused Fishing guide service said black bass are biting fair along gravel points 10 to 15 feet deep. Swim baits and tube baits are working well. Go with a Ned rig on calm days. Try top-water lures early. The black bass spawn is pretty much over.
