The Fleet Reserve Association and the Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at Western Sizzlin' in West Sunset Avenue in Springdale.

The Northwest Arkansas Ostomy Support Group will meet at 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Blvd. in Springdale, for new patient education and information with the general group meeting at 2 p.m.

SUV

The McPherson Camp of the Sons of Union Veterans Of the Civil War will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Foghorn's, 2231 W. Walnut St. in Rogers. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. Commander Joseph Rainey will speak about the "Aftermath of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, Georgia, in June 1864."

The meeting is free and open to all. Membership is open to men and boys who are descendants of Union soldiers and sailors.

Cancer

Living With Cancer is a monthly supportive and educational group for adult Hispanic patients, caregivers, families and friends coping with any type of cancer. The group will meet from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 18 at Hope Cancer Resources at 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. All group communication is in Spanish.

Pieces 'N Patches

The Pieces 'N Patches quilt group will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th St. in Rogers. This will be a UFO Day where you can work on any project you like.

The annual Christmas Tea and Auction will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 2.

The group meets at 12:30 p.m. on the first Monday of each month for programs and at 10 a.m. on the third Monday for workshops. Visitors are welcome.

Stitched

Stitched With Love will meet at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 19 at Mount Vernon Presbyterian Church, 1300 N. Davis St. in Pea Ridge. Bring completed quilts and batting scraps to stuff pillows and scissors for cutting batting for new kits.

The club is a nonprofit organization formed for the purpose of sewing quilts, hats and pillows for children at Arkansas Children's Hospital and meets the third Tuesday of each month. New members are welcome.

The Benton County Republican Women's Club will meet at noon Nov. 19 at the Pleasant Crossing Golden Corral in Rogers. Networking will begin at 11:30 a.m.

The Rotary Club of Fayetteville will meet at noon Nov. 21 at Mermaids, 2217 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville.

The guest speaker will be Dr. Ahmed Zubair, cardiologist at Washington Regional Walker Heart Institute. Zubair will talk about the types of strokes, what causes strokes, how to detect the onset of a stroke and how to prevent strokes.

The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will meet at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at Western Sizzlin', 5720 Rogers Ave. in Fort Smith. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. The topic will be the "Aftermath of the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain."

The Sons of Union Veterans is a fraternal organization dedicated to keeping the history alive for those men from Arkansas that fought for the United States during the Civil War. Meetings are open to all.

Hill Hikers

The Ozark Hill Hikers, a chapter of America's Walking Club, invite all interested walkers to join them for a 5K or 10K walk along the scenic greenway trails inside Kessler Mountain Regional Park. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Nov. 27 at the Walgreens at 2964 Martin Luther King Blvd. in Fayetteville. Directions to the start point are in the walk box at Walgreens and the walk will begin at 10 a.m.

Calico Cut Ups

The Calico Cut Ups will meet for their Christmas luncheon at 11 a.m. Dec. 9 at the First United Methodist Church, 20 Boyce Drive in Bella Vista. Reservations are required and the cost is $5.

The event includes a challenge quilt display with voting, kit basket walk and limited silent auction. Tickets for the kit basket walk will be $1 for one or $5 for six, and there will be 15 to 20 kits available with proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund.
