GRAND CANYON 67, UAPB 54

Allesandro Lever scored 25 points and had six rebounds to lift Grand Canyon (1-3) to a victory over the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (0-3) in Phoenix on Saturday.

Carlos Johnson added 17 points and 7 rebounds for Grand Canyon, which shot 13-of-25 from the floor in the second half.

Grand Canyon outscored UAPB 14-9 from the foul line and had a 13-4 edge in second-chance points despite being outrebounded 35-33. UAPB did have 36-34 edge in points in the paint, including a 24-14 advantage in the second half.

Shaun Doss and Terrance Banyard both finished with 12 points for UAPB, which shot 22-of-56 from the floor, including 3-of-14 on three-pointers. Doss shot 5-of-16 from the floor and Banyard shot a 4-of-8 from the floor.
