Advice from founder
Members leading the debacle now going in Congress have found quotes of our founding fathers to support their motives.
May I suggest they visit and heed the wisdom of John Adams: "Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence."
On double standards
If you want to know what Democrats are up to, just look at what they accuse Republicans of doing. Hillary was outraged, shocked at the threat to our democracy when Trump didn't agree in advance to accept election results. It seems Hillary then spends the next three years telling anyone who will listen that she won the election, it was stolen by the Russians, and Trump's election was illegitimate. The whole party continued a frenzied and crazy effort to undo the 2016 election results which they have never accepted. Hillary hires a British spy to use his Russian contacts to dig up dirt on Trump. Result, the Democrats, having failed to stop Trump's election or force his resignation before taking office, spend the next three years on the expensive dud that was the Mueller Report.
A high-ranking Democrat official's son gets thousands of dollars shoveled to him by a corrupt Ukrainian energy company to whom he has absolutely nothing of value to offer other than his last name. The result, a Republican president is going to be impeached for trying to find out about corruption in Ukraine.
What a topsy-turvy world in which trying to root out Democrat corruption is an impeachable offense, running for president creates immunity to investigation (but only if you are a Democrat), and every failure to unseat a duly elected president with lies is succeeded by another equally preposterous campaign to undo an election. Compare this to all the recount elections where recounts were repeated until that big box of ballots from the most leftist county miraculously appeared. Never forget which party's president, speaking with Putin's puppet about reducing American military strength, said Putin should be patient because he'd have more flexibility after the election.
If it weren't for double standards, Democrats would have no standards at all.

Sworn to uphold law
I believe Dr. Fiona Hill gave the best testimony during the hearings that explains the president's involvement in Ukraine to promote his personal agenda. She explained how Ambassador Sondland, Secretary Perry, Rudy Giuliani and others were there to help President Trump's personal domestic agenda, and the other State Department employees including herself were trying to promote issues that pertained to national security and foreign policy. Dr. Hill went on to explain that it was Russia, not Ukraine, that interfered with the 2016 election and are trying to meddle in the 2020 election. If this doesn't put an end to the Russian hoax, what does it take?
It seems the Republican members of Congress including the Arkansas delegation are so intent on protecting this president that they are blind or no longer believe in the United States Constitution which they swore to uphold.
Protect the children
We think monster, vicious, and murderous when thinking of serial killers. Well, I am not here to change minds, but I am here to give us an idea as to why infamous killers like Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy might think the way they do or act the way they act. It's a parent's job to nurture and care for their child, but in these cases, parental standards were not met; if anything, they were ignored.
When people think of child abuse, serial killers are not the first thing to pop into their minds. We as a society should start re-evaluating the way children are raised because when they grow up and go out on their own, they are a product of how they were raised. If they are sent out broken and abused and all they know is trauma, the odds are high they become adults who commit the same violent acts.
I would also introduce the theory that genetics could play a major part in brain function, let alone someone in a violent home situation who is also exposed to graphic sexual content at a young age.
What should be taken from this is that children should be loved and sheltered from violence at young ages. By simply loving their child, I believe parents are protecting society from another future serial killer.
Union acts shameful
I find what the teachers' union is doing to be, at best, shameful. To use the term "segregation" in any form to describe the efforts of our governor and state officials is offensive to any thinking person, and if this crowd can know shame, it should.
Does anyone really believe that the governor, Mr. Key, or anyone woke up one day and said, "Boy, I sure would like to take local control away from the LRSD and run that thing ..."? No, they are simply doing what they can, the best way they know how, with nothing but the best intentions. Stop the slander and make your case, if you have one. I hope your picket-line chants are not reflective of your level of creativity or civility. If so, we are in worse shape than I realized.
Perhaps the union officials should be honest about what their intentions are. At this point, the only people that benefit from this are the tax collectors in Bryant, Benton, Conway, etc. The teachers' union in Little Rock is working overtime for them.
