The Women's Foundation of Arkansas honored three women making a positive impact in Arkansas at the Power of the Purse Luncheon on Sept. 26. The event filled the Wally Allen Ballroom at Little Rock's Statehouse Convention Center.

Laura Landreaux, president and chief executive officer of Entergy Arkansas, was named the 2019 Woman in Business and Alisha Curtis, chief communications and legislative director for the state Department of Commerce, was named the 2019 Woman in Philanthropy. Patricia Brown, director of the Minority and Women Business Division of the Arkansas Economic Development Commission, was presented the First Lady's Woman of Public Service award by first lady Susan Hutchinson.

Guests were welcomed to the luncheon by board president Tjuana Byrd. The program included remarks by executive director Anna Beth Gorman highlighting the works of the foundation and celebrating 20 years of the organization's program Girls of Promise. Serving as event chairwomen were Alison Williams and Sarah Catherine Gutierrez.
