• Brittany Clark, a registered nurse at the Baptist Health Senior Care Behavioral Health in Fort Smith recently received the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses. The goal of the DAISY Foundation's program is to inspire nurses to provide exemplary care and applaud them for their compassion and skill. Clark has a background in psychiatric nursing. (DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem.)
• Macy Collins, a registered nurse in the Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit at Washington Regional Medical Center, recently earned the Stroke Certified Registered Nurse credential through the American Board of Neuroscience Nursing. Collins earned a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Arkansas. She is a member of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
• Gary Sams has been hired as senior vice president of commercial lending at Grand Savings Bank in Fayetteville. He has a bachelor's degree in management accounting from John Brown University in Siloam Springs.
• Nata Matthews, DNP, APRN, has joined Baptist Health Family Clinic-Massard, Fort Smith. Matthews can diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, as well as provide wellness exams and education on preventing illness. She earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith.
• Jeannette Balleza Collins has joined The Northwest Arkansas Council as entrepreneurial development director. She will collaborate with entrepreneurs, companies, investors, educators, support organizations and others to advance regionwide entrepreneurial vibrancy. Collins co-founded Grit Studios in Bentonville and DeadFred Genealogy Photo Archive. She is a member of The CEO Forums and advises the Fayetteville Innovation Council.
• Nathan Green has joined The Northwest Arkansas Council as communications director. Green will lead communications and develop content and messaging for the council's websites and social media channels while also serving as the primary media contact. Green served as vice president of public relations at the Northwest Arkansas office of inVeritas, a Little Rock-based public affairs firm. He serves on the board of the Northwest Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.
• Dr. Randy Shinn is the inaugural recipient of the Pat Walker Distinguished Chair in Senior Health at the UAMS Schmieding Center for Senior Health and Education in Springdale. Shinn is medical director of the Washington Regional Senior Clinic at the center. He graduated from the UAMS College of Medicine and has been in practice for 24 years. He completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of Utah and a geriatric fellowship at UAMS. He is board certified in internal medicine -- geriatrics.
