BENTONVILLE -- A Springdale man was sentenced to 25 years in prison after admitting to sexually assaulting a girl.

Luis Rodriguez-Torres, 21, was charged with rape, but pleaded guilty to sexual assault as part of a plea agreement.

Benton County Sheriff's Office deputies were called in July 2018 concerning the rape of a girl, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The girl reported Rodriguez-Torres texted to meet her and he raped her after she arrived at the location, according to court documents. The girl said she asked Rodriguez-Torres to stop, but he didn't, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Benton County Circuit Judge Robin Green sentenced Rodriguez-Torres to 25 years in the Arkansas Department of Correction.

He'll be required to register as a sex offender.
