First lady Susan Hutchinson, Antwan Phillips and Kathy Webb were honored Oct. 8 at the Friends of Children Annual Luncheon at the DoubleTree Hotel. The three were lauded for work they have done on behalf of Arkansas children.
The fundraiser for Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families (AACF) was emceed by event co-chairmen Eric McDaniel and Dr. Chad Rodgers. The program featured video tributes to each of the honorees by friends and co-workers.
Hank Bates, president of the advocates board, introduced the guest speaker, Gov. Asa Hutchinson. Rich Huddleston, executive director of Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, spoke about the successes of the 2019 legislative session and what they hope to accomplish in 2020.
The advocates work to ensure children and their families have the resources and opportunities to lead healthy and productive lives and realize their full potential.
