'Ramble' reservations

Friday is the deadline to sign up for Preserve Arkansas' annual "ramble" bus trip to an Arkansas heritage site, heading to Camden on Saturday for "Camden in Two Centuries: Life on the Ouachita." Ramblers will learn about Ouachita County's history, including visits to Tate's Bluff, Poison Spring State Park and Camden's historic homes. Tickets, $125, include motor-coach transportation from North Little Rock, historic site tours, snacks and libations on the bus and meals. Memoir workshop

Nov. 1 is the deadline to sign up for author-publisher Janis F. Kearney's "Memoir Writing Workshop: First Draft — Chapter One," 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Delta Cultural Center, 141 Cherry St., Helena-West Helena. Kim Vu-Dinh, a faculty member at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law and director of the Business Innovations Clinic, leads a workshop titled "Copyright and Fair Use for Artists," 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Arkansas Heritage Department headquarters, 1100 North St., Little Rock. The workshop will cover ways to protect visual art, music and writings from illegal use and infringement; attendees who take laptops or tablets can get help registering one of their original creations on the U.S. Copyright website.
