John Calvin Abney stops at White Water Tavern on his 45-city "Safe Passage" tour at 8 p.m. Wednesday at White Water Tavern. Admission is $7.

Safe Passage is the new album from Abney, a songwriter, producer and player of many instruments. Billboard magazine called the album "melodic, ethereal ... lush," and Rolling Stone Country describes it as "woozily lush arrangements and classic pop turns ... feels like a farewell to a longtime friend, with its nostalgic haze and warm, bittersweet bite," according to johncalvinabney.com.

If you miss his White Water show this go around, Abney comes back to White Water for its annual Holiday Hangout on Dec. 6.
