Book Forum
The Omni Center for Peace, Justice and Ecology will hold its monthly climate book forum at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Fayetteville Public Library. This month two books will be addressed, The Uninhabitable Earth by David Wallace-Wells and Losing Earth by Nathaniel Rich. Wallace-Wells has written a book on the climate catastrophe, its consequences for humans and possible human responses. Rich's short book recounts ways during the 1970s and '80s the science of warming was suppressed by corporate and government officials. This forum is moderated by Dick Bennett.

Myeloma
Hope Cancer Resources offers a support group for myeloma patients, caregivers and loved ones. The Northwest Arkansas Myeloma Support Group will meet from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 3 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. The meeting will be co-facilitated by a 22-year survivor and will provide education, support and the opportunity to share experiences.

Garden Club
The Garden Club of Rogers will meet at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 3 at the First Presbyterian Church, 1901 S. 26th. St.
The program will be "ARDot's Wildflower Program" and the speaker will be Kayti Ewing, botanist for the Arkansas Department of Transportation. Ewing will showcase ARDot's various wildflower programs, wildflower routes and native wildflower area signage and the milkweed enhancement plan.
There will be a horticulture report and drawing for plant of the month. There will be pass-along plants and magazines.
Lunch will be catered, and reservations are required.

The Rotary Club of Fayetteville will meet at noon Sept. 5 at Mermaids, 2217 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville. The guest speaker will be Lisa Morrison, who will speak on "Why Natives Matter."

Historians
The Benton County Historical Society will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 8 to tour the newly renovated Siloam Springs Museum at 112 N. Maxwell St. in Siloam Springs. The museum was closed for nearly a year for a complete transformation of the interior and held a grand reopening on March 30. Featured exhibits include "Industries of Siloam Springs," funded by the La-Z-Boy Foundation, "Our 50th Anniversary: A Golden Anniversary and A New Beginning," and other exhibits highlighting the history of Siloam Springs.

The Northwest Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sept. 8 in the Conference Center of The Bass Pro Shop, 2300 Promenade Blvd. in Rogers.
All chapter meetings are open to the general public, and anyone interested in the organization is invited. All members and supporters must clear an N.C.I.C. background check.
The Bass Pro Shop's cafe is located next to the Conference Center, and participants are welcome to come early and visit before the meeting.

Hope Cancer Resources in Springdale hosts a supportive and educational group from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 9 at Hope Cancer Resources, 5835 W. Sunset Ave. in Springdale. The group is for adult patients, caregivers, families and friends coping with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, MDS or other blood cancers. RSVPs are appreciated.

The Ko-ko-ci Chapter of the Arkansas Archeological Society will meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Washington County Cooperative Extension Office, 2536 N. McConnell Ave. in Fayetteville. Guest speaker George Sabo III will present "Disasters and Archeology."

Radio Club
The Little Switzerland Amateur Radio Club will meet at 2 p.m. Sept. 14 in the day room at Mercy Hospital, 214 Carter St. in Berryville. Anyone interested in ham radio is welcome to attend.
The club offers technician, general and amateur extra class tests at noon on the second Saturday of each month. Participants must have a reservation and a current valid amateur radio license or an FCC registration number. Register at least a week before the second Saturday. The test fee is $15.
