Stocks went up yesterday and even the day before. Much of it had to do with Chinese and American envoys agreeing to meet next month for more talks about all this tariff business.

Trade wars are not good, and they are not easy to win. No matter what certain American presidents have said. Farmers in particular, especially but not only soybean farmers in Arkansas, have watched as their business has dried up. At least figuratively. But now it appears as though the two sides are talking again.

Here's hoping they continue to talk. Winston Churchill once said jaw-jaw is better than war-war. That goes for trade wars, too.
