J. Max Van Hoose has been promoted to executive vice president for Harps Food Stores, Inc. He was the director of construction and vice president of store planning. He serves on the board of the Missouri Grocers Association and is a member of the Arkansas Academy of Industrial Engineers.

Dr. Venkata Vijaya Kumar Dalai started in August at Mercy Clinic Behavioral Health in Fort Smith, specializing in psychiatry. Dalai graduated with a bachelor's degree in medicine and surgery from Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, India. He has a master's degree in public health from Missouri State University in Springfield and a residency in psychiatry and fellowship in sleep medicine from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.

Dr. Kate Czerniecka-Foxx joined Mercy Clinic Neurosurgery in Fort Smith in August. Czerniecka-Foxx received a doctor of medicine from Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum in Krakow, Poland. Czerniecka-Foxx completed a neurological surgery residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York.

Dr. Kenneth Foxx joined Mercy Clinic Neurosurgery in Fort Smith in August. Foxx received a doctor of medicine from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed a neurological surgery residency and spine surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester Medical Center in New York. He has a bachelor of science in biomedical engineering, with a minor in chemical engineering, from the University of Rochester.

Brooke Houser, O.D., started in August as an optometrist at Mercy Clinic Ophthalmology in Fort Smith. Houser received a doctor of optometry from the Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio. She has a bachelor of science in neuroscience from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. Houser completed an optometry residency at Veterans Health Care System of the Ozarks in Fayetteville.

Hsin-Wei Huang, Au.D., joined Mercy Clinic Audiology in Fort Smith in August. Huang received a doctor of audiology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, with a specialty in speech pathology. She has a post-baccalaureate in communication disorders and sciences from the University of Oregon at Eugene; a master of arts in Spanish linguistics from the University of Georgia at Athens; and a bachelor of arts in Spanish from Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan.

Jayme Vaughan has been hired as marketing manager for Arvest Bank in Siloam Springs. Vaughan joins Arvest from TXK Today in Texarkana, Texas, where she worked as a reporter and in advertising sales.Vaughan earned a bachelor's degree in mass communications, with a minor in marketing, at Texas A&M in Texarkana, Texas.

Dr. Nicholas Anthony has been hired as content development manager for Cobb-Vantress Inc. He was the poultry breeding and genetics professor at the University of Arkansas' Center of Excellence for Poultry Science for 29 years. He completed his education at Ohio State University in Columbus and Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg.

Dr. Irene Hanning was hired as the senior manager of technical content for Cobb-Vantress Inc. She worked most recently as a faculty member at the University of Tennessee and the University of Arkansas and as an editor and publisher of the journal, Concise Contributions to Biology. Hanning received her bachelor's degree at Texas A&M University and her doctorate from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

Tim Gossett, vice president of Walmart, Anheuser-Busch InBev; and Kerry Bailey, vice president of Walmart Enterprise Business Development-Global Leadership, WestRock Inc.; have joined the Mercy Health Foundation board.
