FAYETTEVILLE -- A Madison County woman was sentenced to federal prison Friday for selling methamphetamine.

Rachael Shackelford, 30, of St. Paul was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release. She was also ordered to pay $2,500 in fines for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Law enforcement officers received information around November that Shackelford was distributing methamphetamine from her home, according to court documents. During the investigation, deputies with the Madison County Sheriff's Office searched her home Jan. 9.

Deputies found Shackelford along with syringes, digital scales, drug packaging material, about 238 grams of methamphetamine and several firearms, court documents say.

A federal grand jury indicted Shackelford in March, and she entered a guilty plea in April.

U.S. District Judge Timothy L. Brooks presided over the sentencing hearing.
