Businesses receive governor award

Several local organizations received an Arkansas Governor's Quality Award during the 25th annual awards celebration Sept. 12. Northwest Medical Center, Springdale, was named a commitment level recipient. Challenge level recipients included Avenir Memory Care at Fayetteville, Home Instead Senior Care of Northwest Arkansas in Rogers and Hope's Creek Assisted Living in Van Buren.

Urgent care opens in Fort Smith

Baptist Health Urgent Care has opened a seventh center in Fort Smith at 7600 Rogers Ave. The clinic is open from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Friday; Saturday from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Sunday from 1-6 p.m.

Mercy opens Springdale clinic

Mercy Springdale, a 63,000-square-foot clinic featuring primary and specialty care and a 24-hour emergency room at 4600 Mercy Lane in Springdale, recently opened. Kerry Harper will serve as campus administrator.

The facility includes a 22,000-square-foot emergency room with 12 exam rooms. An on-site helipad will allow for critical care transports to Mercy Hospital Northwest Arkansas in Rogers and other facilities.

An imaging department will serve the clinic and ER sides. The clinic features 60-plus exam rooms. Permanent specialities in the clinic include cardiology, endocrinology, neurology and pulmonology. Primary care providers will include internal medicine and pediatrics.
