Road crashes in state fatal to 3 motorists

Three Arkansans were killed in state road crashes Tuesday and Wednesday, according to Arkansas Department of Public Safety fatal crash reports.

Walter Stow, 83, of Texarkana struck a tree in his 2006 Chevrolet 1500 when he over-corrected after veering off Arkansas 237 in Miller County at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday.

On Wednesday, while trying to pass a Kenworth truck in a 2007 Ford on Interstate 555 near Marked Tree, driver Taichan Sanders, 26, of Jonesboro sideswiped the truck and lost control of his vehicle, which smashed into a guardrail and a bridge support pier at 9:36 a.m.

Sanders was killed, and his passenger, Anthony Curry, 37, of Memphis, was injured and to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis.

Also Wednesday, Kimberly Hendrix, 48, of Ward died after the Ford Focus she was driving struck a trailer protruding into Arkansas 31 south of Beebe at 6:17 a.m.

Her vehicle overturned multiple times. She was taken to Unity Health Searcy , where she was pronounced dead.
