It happens more than anyone admits, but Thursday evening's "Meet the Curator: Livestream Discussion of Arkansas Political Cartoonist George Fisher" live-stream hit a virtual snag.

The Arts and Science Center for Southeast Arkansas rescheduled the discussion for Thursday, Jan. 7, at 5 p.m. on Instagram and Facebook.

Adam D. Heien, processing archivist of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville's Special Collections, was unable to get signed on.

Heien and Arts and Science Center Curator Chaney Jewell planned to discuss the importance of Fisher's political cartoons.

He was a World War II veteran and drew political cartoons for the Arkansas Times and the Arkansas Gazette.

They will also talk about how Fisher and his wife, Rosemary Fisher, put together a puppet show, called "Phydeaux and His Friends" for Little Rock television station KATV.

Before the program, Jewell said, "the show ran in the 1950s, specialized in political satire and featured local political figures, including Gov. Orval Faubus."

Also, eight of the dolls made by Rosemary Fisher for the show are now on view at the Arts and Science Center, said Shannon Frazeur, the center's spokeswoman.

The dolls are on loan from Arkansas arts supporter June B. Freeman. Among her many contributions, Rosemary Fisher was instrumental in establishing the Little Firehouse Community Arts Center, the precursor to Arts and Science Center, Frazeur said.
