Lauren Snowden White - Ryan Cantrell Thompson

Wedding vows were exchanged by Lauren Snowden White and Ryan Cantrell Thompson at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 28, in All Saints Episcopal Church, Richmond, Va.

The bride is the daughter of Melanie Sue and Errol Henry White of Richmond. Her grandparents are Pearl and John Francis Kuemmerle, also of Richmond, and Alison and the late Dr. James Henry White of Nokomis, Fla.

Drs. Kelley and Robert Thompson of Maumelle are the parents of the groom. His grandparents are Peggy and the late William Thompson of Maumelle and Treneie and the late John Hedgecock of Little Rock.

The altar held white arrangements of roses, lilies and bells of Ireland. Music was by vocalist Nora Byrd, who sang "Ave Maria," organist Scott Hayes and Marcy Wallace on the bagpipe.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of candlelight satin with a chapel train and carried a bouquet of roses, purple dahlia, burgundy snapdragon and thistle.

Serving as matron of honor was Joyce Fain of New York and maid of honor was Glennis Lofland of Atlanta. Bridesmaids were Britney Spencer of Leander, Texas; Kristen Wong of Dallas; Jenny Essig of New York; and Katherine Knipe of Hillsboro, Ore. They wore gowns of emerald green satin and carried bouquets of similar to the bride's.

Katie White of Basking Ridge, N.J., cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

Steven Glendon of New York was best man. Groomsmen were Carl White of Charlottesville, Va., brother of the bride; Gabriel Ayala of Honduras; Travis Weigle of Little Rock; Josh Courtney Washington; and Jon Powers of Winston-Salem, N.C.

A reception in the The Bolling Haxall House in Richmond followed the ceremony. The historic home was decorated with lighted holly garland on the winding staircase, a Christmas tree and evergreens on fireplace mantels. Guest tables held candles set in evergreens. Music was by Eight Past Midnight.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in physics from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Va., and a doctorate in nanoscience and nanotechnology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond. She is employed by Intel Corporation as a process technical director engineer.

The groom has a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Wake Forest University and a master's degree in couples, marriage and family therapy from The College of William and Mary. He is pursuing a doctorate in clinical psychology at Palo Alto University.

The couple will split their residence between Hillsboro and Palo Alto, Calif.
