POLICE BEAT: Vehicle's occupants facing drug charges

Sherwood police arrested three people early Tuesday on drug-related charges, according to reports.

An officer stopped a vehicle at Johnson Drive and Whitewood Drive about 1:30 a.m. for failing to signal a turn, and the driver, 58-year-old Charles White, had a search waiver on file as an active parolee, the reports said.

According to reports, a search found a counterfeit $100 bill in his pocket and other drugs in the vehicle.

Reports said that an officer searching the vehicle found a bag of cocaine, Ecstasy pills, a pill container of adipex and a yellow straw with residue inside the purse of passenger Sherry Brooks, 50.

Passenger Terry Fountain, 56, was found to be in possession of hydrocodone and oxycodone pills found in a shoe box in the rear of a vehicle, the report said.

A later search of White's residence found drugs and drug paraphernalia, according to a report.

All three were arrested and taken to the Pulaski County jail where Brooks and Fountain are not yet on the jail's roster. Brooks is charged with five felony counts of possession of Schedule I/II drugs; felony possession of Schedule II drugs; felony possession of Schedule IV drugs; and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

Fountain is charged with felony possession of Schedule II drugs and felony possession of drug paraphernalia.

No bail has been set for White and he is charged with four felony counts of possession of Schedule II drugs; two felony counts of possession of drug paraphernalia; felony maintaining a drug premises near certain sites; felony possession of Schedule I/II drugs; felony forgery; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI drugs; and misdemeanor no turn signal.
