Maumelle parents face charges in child's death

Two Maumelle parents have been arrested in a homicide investigation involving the death of their nearly 2-month-old son, according to an arrest report.

At 7:15 p.m. Tuesday, William Carney was rushed to Arkansas Children's hospital, the report said.

He was unconscious and had possible internal injuries, according to the report. The child later died, the report said. The exact time of his death is unclear from the report.

On Wednesday, Chie Carney, 34, was arrested on a felony charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, according to reports, and is being held in the Pulaski County jail in lieu of $18,000 bond.

On Friday, Maumelle police arrested 35-year-old Joseph Carney, Chie's husband, on a capital murder charge, the report said.

He was taken to the Pulaski County jail with no bail amount set.
