A 32-year-old man died early Sunday after the vehicle he was driving south hit a tree along U.S. 79 near Magnolia, according to the Arkansas State Police.

About 2:23 a.m., Montez Moddies of Magnolia veered off the road and struck the tree, according to a preliminary crash report. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Columbia County coroner.

Road conditions were dry and the weather clear at the time of the crash, the report says.
