Masks handed out

by housing agency

The housing authority, in partnership with the city, distributed nearly 1,300 masks to residents last week in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Masks went to residents at Cumberland Tower, Fred W. Parris Tower, Jesse Powell Tower, Sunset Terrace, Central High Apartment Homes, Stephens Apartments Homes, Madison Heights I & II and the Senior Homes at Granite Mountain, according to a Metropolitan Housing Alliance news release.

The masks were provided by the city.

"The health and safety of our residents and staff is our first priority," agency Executive Director Anthony Snell said in the release. "It's our hope that this will help our residents remain healthy and safe, and we're trusting that they'll use them not only as they move about our residences, but that they'll wear the masks out in public, helping to curb the pandemic."
