Police are investigating after a man was shot Thursday by at least one officer in North Little Rock, authorities said.

Officers inside a police substation heard gunshots coming from the parking lot of the next-door Tobacco Outlet, 4615 E. Broadway St., shortly after 12:10 p.m., department spokeswoman Sgt. Amy Cooper said.

An armed man was confronted by officers, and at least one officer shot him, according to Cooper.

Police said the involved officers have been put on administrative leave due to department policy.
