UMC sets date for conference
The United Methodist Church has announced a new date for its largest denominational meeting, according to a news release.
General Conference, the quadrennial meeting of the United Methodist delegates from around the world, has been scheduled to take place Aug, 29 to Sept. 7, 2021, the event’s commission announced Tuesday.

The event, which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, where the first gathering — which was to have been held this month — would have taken place.
The release stated that the coronavirus pandemic is the first health crisis to affect a scheduled General Conference since 1800, when the gathering was moved because of yellow fever concerns.
