Man killed in crash in Crawfordsville

A West Memphis man was killed late Tuesday night when he lost control of his car, crossed over into oncoming traffic and hit another vehicle, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Nicholas Lakeif Carter, 39, was driving eastbound on U.S. 64 in Crawfordsville at 11:57 p.m. when his 2016 Toyota Corolla ran off the highway before cutting back across four lanes of traffic and colliding with a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, killing him, the report said.

Rosie Mems, 55, of Earle, the driver of the pickup, was injured in the crash, according to the report.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, the report said.
