Theft suspect held after chase, crash

Jacksonville Police arrested a Little Rock man who fled from police in his vehicle after attempting to steal computers from Walmart on Sunday night, according to an arrest report.

An officer saw store employees pointing at Freddy Walls, 33, who got into a Mazda and drove away from the store on 2000 John Harden Drive at 8:48 p.m., the report said.

Walls led police onto U.S. 67 southbound, speeding up to 108 miles per hour before wrecking his vehicle at the Main Street exit in Jacksonville where he was detained, according to the report.

He was taken to the Pulaski County jail where bail was set at $3,500 and is charged with felony fleeing and misdemeanor shoplifting.

Man, woman held after drugs found

A man and a woman were arrested on drug charges after police were called to an incident Monday afternoon in Jacksonville, according to an arrest report.

An officer responding to an incident report stopped an SUV driven by Carlos Ellebb, 35, with passenger Beatrice Simmons, 43, at 305 Stevenson St. and arrested Ellebb and Simmons on warrants. A search of the vehicle found drugs and paraphernalia, according to the report.

They were taken to the Pulaski County jail and charged with multiple counts of felony drug possession.
