Rivercrest 48,

Prairie Grove 23

Rivercrest's Kam Turner accounted for four touchdowns and 361 yards total offense Friday night as the Colts cruised past Prairie Grove 48-23 in the second round of the Class 4A state football playoffs.

Turner threw two touchdown passes and ran for two more scores, giving him 36 touchdown passes and 18 rushing touchdowns on the season. He finished with 253 yards on 21 carries Friday night and also completed 13-of-17 passes for 108 yards.

Rivercrest (11-0) produced 574 total yards, including 435 rushing, while earning another home game next week. The Colts will host Crossett (6-1) in the quarterfinals.

Prairie Grove (10-2) trailed 35-23 after Ethan Miller scored on a 30-yard run with 7:38 remaining in the third quarter. The Colts answered 23 seconds later with Keshawn Scott's 44-yard touchdown run.

The Colts held the Tigers on downs at the Rivercrest 6-yard line, then mounted a 16-play, 94-yard touchdown drive. Elijah Nichols threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Scott on a double pass to set the final score with 7:59 left in the game.

Scott finished with 128 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, also catching five passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns.

Prairie Grove's Knox Laird was 7-of-13 passing for 122 yards. Laird added 45 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.

Rivercrest opened the scoring on Turner's 29-yard pass to Scott with 10:52 left in the first quarter, followed by the first of Conner Vaughn's six extra points. Prairie Grove's Paytin Higgins kicked a 23-yard field goal after the Tigers blocked a punt, cutting the Colts' lead to 7-3 with 5:17 left in the first quarter.

Scott scored on an 11-yard run with 3:22 remaining in the first quarter. Turner's 9-yard touchdown run gave Rivercrest a 21-3 lead with 6:03 left in the second quarter.

Laird scored on a 21-yard run with 2:59 left in the second quarter. After Turner scored on a 70-yard run at the 1:42 mark, Laird scored again on a 4-yard run with 16 seconds left in the half, leaving Rivercrest with a 28-17 halftime lead.

The Colts scored the first points of the second half on Turner's 4-yard pass to Jaylan West with 8:46 remaining in the third quarter.

Girls

FS Northside 68,

Putnam City (Okla.) West 64

Tracey Bershers scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Lady Bears to a nonconference win Friday.

University of Arkansas signee Jersey Wolfenbarger scored 20 for Northside and Yonni Releford finished with 15.

Lifeway Christian 72, Alpena 63

Hallie and Abby Moseley combined for 54 points to help the Lady Warriors pull away for a big 1A-1 Conference win.

Abby Moseley poured in a game-high 32 points, including 12 in the third quarter to help Lifeway Christian extend a one-point halftime lead to 53-47 heading into the final quarter. Hallie Moseley added 22 for the Lady Warriors (5-1, 1-0).

Desiree Deitrich led Alpena with 24, while Amelya Cook added 20 and Katherine Rodas 16.

Boys

Farmington 55, Rogers Heritage 50

Layne Taylor poured in 24 points to help the Cardinals edge the War Eagles.

Nathan Monroe added 12 points, while Devonte Donavan grabbed 19 rebounds for Farmington (4-1), who led 29-18 at halftime and 42-27 after three quarters.

Kirees Sampson led Heritage with 13 and Lucas Sarratt added 12.

Lifeway Christian 63, Alpena 60

Ant Potter scored a game-high 23 points to help the Warriors hold on for the win.

Lifeway Christian led 52-29 after three quarters, but held off a late challenge as Alpena scored 31 fourth-quarter points.

Luke Melton also added 19 for Lifeway Christian (2-4, 1-0). Nicholas Stone led Alpena with 15 points on five 3-pointers, including 12 points in the fourth quarter. Bryce Martin and Kolbe Hicks added 13 each.

Putnam City (Okla.) West 89, FS Northside 64

The Grizzlies fell into a 22-7 hole in the first quarter and could not climb back out in a nonconference loss Friday.

Tamaury Releford had a double-double for Northside with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Denarion Whitmore also scored 18 points for Northside, and Connor Coats scored 11.
