S. Korea sister city sends gift of masks

Little Rock's sister city in South Korea has shipped 20,000 masks to aid the city, the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs and the Korean American Federation of Arkansas.

Hanam City is Little Rock's second-oldest sister-city relationship, andwhich was formalized in 1992.

Mayor Frank Scott Jr. said in thea news release that there has long been a kinship between the two cities, and between Arkansas and South Korea.

"This donation is the latest example of how we continue to support each other," Scott said.

The city will distribute 10,000 masks to the Little Rock School District. The remaining 10,000 will be distributed to Korean War veterans in Ccentral Arkansas and to the local Korean community by the stateDepartment of Veterans Affairs and the Korean American Federation. of Arkansas.

This is the second shipment of personal protective equipment that Hanam City has donated to Little Rock. In April, the Arkansas capital received 980 cloth masks and 650 mask filters for city employees.
