OLLI sets

new classes

The Osher Lifelong Institute at the University of Arkansas announces the following classes for the upcoming week:

Oct. 19: "Antisemitism is on the Rise" (online). Antisemitism in America is at its highest rate since the Holocaust. According to a recent global poll less than 50% of those under the age of 35 have ever heard of the Holocaust. In the wake of recent deadly synagogue shootings across the United States, there is a need to better understand both past and modern-day antisemitism. Join two Jewish-American scholars for a two-part series on the history of antisemitism and its modern-day manifestations, as well as the implications of underlying prejudice against other marginalized groups. Participant outcomes include a better understanding of the nature of antisemitism and prejudice against other marginalized groups, what factors have led to their increase, and ways to communicate effectively to people who are prejudiced. $29 members, $44 nonmembers.

Oct. 19: "Living a Healthy and Successful Life with ADHD" (online/in person), $25 members, $40 nonmembers.

Oct. 20: "Nelson Hackett: Escaping Slavery in Fayetteville, 1841-1843" (online/in person), $25 members, $40 nonmembers

Oct. 21: "Advanced Photoshop" (online/in person), $69 members, $84 nonmembers.
