Alexandria C. Smith Thomas F. Herbert

Wedding vows were exchanged by Alexandria C. Smith and Thomas F. Herbert at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, in the Venue of Oakdale. The Rev. Ray Johnston of Union Valley Missionary Baptist Church, Lonoke, officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Dedra R. and Marcus L. Smith of Sherwood. She is the granddaughter of Janet and James McDonald, the late Adean Green and the late Tyler Keels, all of Little Rock.

The groom is the son of Jean C. Herbert and the late Douglas A. Herbert of Richmond, Va. His grandparents are the late Erma and Frederick Johnson and the late Rebecca and Thomas H. Herbert.

The ceremony site was decorated with arrangements of orchids, roses, anthurium and monstera and palmetto leaves in shades of orange, fuchsia and coral.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a long-sleeve ivory fit-and-flare gown with an overlay illusion appliqued with lace that extended to a beaded cathedral-length train. She carried a bouquet of orchids, roses and tropical foliage.

Maid of honor was Nicolet D. Smith of Gainesville, Fla., sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jessica Lamar, Tyler Ayers and Amber Grider, cousin of the bride, all of Little Rock; and Jasmine James and Ja'Sprie Mickens, both of Dallas. They wore one-shoulder wine-colored gowns with sweep trains and carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet.

Best man was Joey McClenney of Richmond. Groomsmen were Christopher Jones of Baton Rouge; Justin McDonald of Austin, Texas, cousin of the bride; Edward Blackwell of Dallas; and Kevin Thornton and Shawn Herbert, nephew of the groom, both of Richmond.

Guests were seated by Briona Barbee of DeSoto, Texas; Deontray Maltbia of Arlington, Texas; Gabby Servin and Samantha Pettis, both of Little Rock; Mary Macon of Conway; Michelyn Gant of Helena-West Helena; and Priscilla Trammell of Bradley.

A reception, also at the Venue at Oakdale, was decorated with arrangements of tropical flowers and foliage. Music was by Ryan Matthews.

The bride has a bachelor's degree in interior design from the University of Central Arkansas in Conway. She is a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.

The groom is a graduate of Bellevue University in Bellevue, Neb., and has a bachelor's degree in business information systems. He is a master sergeant in the Air Force.

The couple will make their home in Jacksonville and plan a delayed honeymoon in Oranjestad, Aruba.
