Carl Moneyhon, a University of Arkansas at Little Rock history professor and Civil War expert, was honored Sept. 30 during a small surprise party in the backyard of Kathy and Bobby Roberts.
The Robertses created the Dr. Carl Moneyhon Research Fellowship in his honor. The fellowship will award research grants to UALR students or faculty members who are studying history or geography.

Bobby Roberts hosts a small group of friends -- including Moneyhon -- on Wednesday afternoons for happy hour. On this particular day, other friends showed up to surprise Moneyhon with the fellowship announcement.
