Sherwood motorist

faces drug charge

North Little Rock police on Sunday morning arrested Gilbert Glanton Deleon of Sherwood at the on-ramp of Interstate 40 at Percy Machin Drive on a charge of felony possession of a Schedule I or II controlled substance after officers said his vehicle failed to come to a complete stop at an intersection, according to an arrest report.

Deleon, the driver, consented to a search of the vehicle, according to police, after admitting he used methamphetamine the day before. A search revealed a loaded needle that contained suspected meth. Deleon was arrested and a search of his person showed he was carrying a clear plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance that was suspected to be meth, police reported.

Little Rock police on Sunday afternoon arrested Michael Ssali, 31, of Little Rock on misdemeanor charges of public intoxication and disorderly conduct after police were called to 313 President Clinton Ave. in reference to a man urinating on the sidewalk, throwing items and spitting at people, according to an arrest report.

Police reported that the man continued to shout profanities and lie on the sidewalk once police arrived. While en route to the Pulaski County jail, the man spit on an arresting officer and said, "When we get to jail there's gonna be a lot of blood," according to the arrest report.

North Little Rock police on Sunday afternoon arrested 25-year-old Javian Shamar Johnson of North Little Rock on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and theft by receiving after police saw a parked car at 4604 E. Broadway that displayed a stolen license plate, according to an arrest report.

Police asked the driver, Johnson, to exit the vehicle. A search of Johnson revealed two pills in a plastic bag that police suspected to be ecstasy. A digital scale was found in front of the gear shift with marijuana residue on it, police reported.
