Sheridan teacher, 38, faces child pornography charges

EL DORADO -- David Brent Miller of Little Rock was arrested by officers of the Union County sheriff's office Thursday evening at his home in relation to crimes against children.

Miller, 38, is facing charges of computer child pornography and pandering or possessing visual or print medium depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, according to a press release from the Union County sheriff's office.

Miller is on administrative leave pending an investigation from Sheridan High School, where he has been a choir and drama teacher since August 2015, according to a district spokesperson.

Capt. Jeff Stinson, chief investigator for the sheriff's office, said the victim of the crimes Miller is charged with resides in Union County. The investigation is ongoing, he said.

Miller previously volunteered at the South Arkansas Arts Center and was formerly scheduled to direct a production of Mamma Mia! there that was put on hold this year due to the ongoing covid-19 pandemic. He is no longer associated with the project, a spokesperson for the South Arkansas Arts Center said.
