Johnson officially signs with Hogs

FAYETTEVILLE -- Kamani Johnson, a 6-7 forward, has signed with the University of Arkansas, Coach Eric Musselman announced Monday.

Johnson announced the decision last week.

He is transferring to Arkansas from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where last season as a sophomore he averaged 11.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists in 27.7 minutes to help the Trojans win the Sun Belt Conference championship. He hit 144 of 198 free throws.

"Kamani comes from a winning program and he has been well coached in a really good system by [UALR Coach] Darrell Walker," Musselman said. "He plays extremely hard and is one of the best free throw attempt players in the country.

"Kamani's rebounding ability will be an asset and he will fit into our philosophy of trying to get to the free throw line."

Johnson is scheduled to join the Razorbacks in mid-December, according to a news release, and will become eligible to play for the 2021-22 season as a junior.
