Rotarians give to UALR food bank

Rotary Afterhours Club of Little Rock proved Aug. 22 they also do things during hours.

The club, which usually meets for dinner, got together with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and Rotarians from nearby clubs that morning to stock the food pantry for the college's students.

Led by club President Matt Buie, the Rotarians unloaded pantry staples that were dropped off at the university's Bailey Alumni Center. On hand to help out was university Chancellor Christy Drale and Dylan Dodd, dressed as Trojan mascot Maximus.

According to data released late last year by the College and University Food Bank Alliance, 30% of college students in the nation are food insecure.
