Police make arrest at Walmart in NLR

North Little Rock police on Saturday evening arrested 47-year-old Richard Allen Goacher of North Little Rock on charges of possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, both felonies, along with misdemeanor theft of property at a Walmart Supercenter at 4450 E. McCain Blvd.

He is accused of taking price tags from lower-priced items and placing them on higher-priced items, then ringing up the items with the switched tags at the self-checkout section.

A search of Goacher during the arrest revealed meth and a glass smoking pipe, according to an arrest report. The items Goacher is accused of stealing -- two backpacks from the sporting goods section -- were worth $82.41, police reported.

He did not appear on a roster of Pulaski County jail inmates on Sunday evening.

Deputies: Cough leads to charge

A North Little Rock man is facing a felony charge of aggravated assault upon a law enforcement officer on accusations that he said he was positive for covid-19 and then coughed loudly and exaggeratedly onto the back of a Pulaski County sheriff's deputy's head while being driven to jail, according to an arrest report.

Michael David Overman, 44, was arrested Saturday and accused of public intoxication at Jimmy Ray's Karaoke and Dance Club in North Little Rock after sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a patron stealing tip money from the bar, the arrest report said.

It was when Overman was en route to jail that he leaned forward against the cage in the back of the sheriff's office vehicle and coughed onto the back of a deputy who was seated on the passenger side, the report said. According to the report, Overman was told at that time that he would be charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

Overman remained in jail as of Sunday evening, according to an online inmate roster.

While en route to the jail, Martin refused to give his date of birth and threatened several times to kill police officers, according to an arrest report.

Martin remained in the Pulaski County jail on Sunday evening without bail set, according to an online inmate roster.

England man, 42, faces DWI charge

Sherwood police on Saturday evening arrested 42-year-old Bradley Taylor of England on four misdemeanor charges of open container, no seat belt, driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit to a chemical test after he was stopped at Sherwood Plaza, according to an arrest report.

Taylor told police he had a beer before driving and police saw empty bottles of whiskey lying in the front seat in open view and within Taylor's reach, the report said. He showed signs of impairment during standard field sobriety tests, according to police, and was placed under arrest.

When his truck was inventoried, several more open and empty whiskey bottles were found in the passenger compartment, police reported.

Taylor did not appear on a roster of Pulaski County jail inmates on Sunday evening.
