Three arrests made in drive-by gunfire

Little Rock police arrested three people after an occupant in a vehicle shot at an apartment building Wednesday evening, according to a department tweet.

Officers observed someone firing at the apartment building at 9101 Auxor Road at 6 p.m. and began pursuit of the Dodge Charger until it crashed at Baseline and Geyer Springs roads. Three suspects were then arrested, the tweet said.

An officer involved in the incident suffered a laceration to his hand, according to the tweet.

The identities of the three people arrested were not released.

Drug charges filed after traffic stop

A Little Rock man was arrested in North Little Rock after marijuana reportedly was found in his vehicle during a Wednesday afternoon traffic stop, according to a report.

An officer stopped a vehicle driven by Phil Johnson, 37, for careless driving just after 3 p.m. and noticed the smell of marijuana wafting from the vehicle, the report said.

A search found a half-pound of marijuana, plastic bags and a digital scale, which Johnson claimed ownership of, according to the report.

Johnson was taken to the Pulaski County jail and charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held without bail.
