A Pulaski County sheriff's deputy arrested a man Monday afternoon in west Little Rock in the theft of a truck earlier that morning, according to an arrest report.
Adam Andrews, 40, faces charges of theft by receiving, possession of a controlled substance less than 2 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
OnStar tracked the GMC Sierra stolen out of Bryant about 4 a.m. to Walnut Grove Road and alerted police, according to the report. Andrews told the deputy who arrived that the truck belonged to a friend who let him borrow it; however, the license plate confirmed the truck had been reported stolen.
During the arrest, Andrews told the deputy to be careful because he may have a needle on him, according to the report. He also said he had dope in the truck. A search revealed a glass pipe and a container with what looked like methamphetamine.
The truck's owner showed up and said he didn't know Andrews but recognized him as the man walking through his neighborhood the day before, according to the report.
The truck also had had a large trailer that was no longer attached. They couldn't find the trailer and Andrews denied knowing where it was, according to the report.
Andrews maintained he did not steal the truck and said he had the truck for several weeks.
He was being held at the Pulaski County jail as of Monday night.
